Brazil’s 18-member squad for Olympic football

Brazil is known as the “Birth Place of the greatest footballer.” But so far the 5 times FIFA world cup champion didn’t won the Olympic gold! However, this time at home to win gold at the Olympic Games Neymar team are ready.

Brazil already submitted the 18-member squad Olympic football team to International Olympic Committee. Renato Augusto and Walakh has been included in the squad.

Bayern Munich midfielder Douglas Costa withdrew himself from the squad due to injury. And Augusto replaced Douglas. On the other hand, Fred’s club Shakhtar Donetsk do not release him. 21 years old Walakh add to the team in place of Fred.

Marquinhos and Felipe Anderson finally confirmed there place to the final team, though there club was not agreed to release them.  Barcelona forward Neymar will lead Brazil at the Olympics.

Brazil has come with disappointment from Olympic title for three times. Each time they finished from second place and won the Silver medal. However, 5 times world champions are desperate to win the first ever gold at football at home, which will held in Rio de Janeiro.

His year’s Olympics will be on screen from August 5. But football gold fight will start at August 4. At the same day, Brazil and South Africa will play the opening match.

Brazil’s 18-member squad for Olympic football:

Goalkeepers: Fernando Prass (Palmeiras), Uilson (Atletico Mineiro).

Defenders: Marquinhos (PSG), Luan (Vasco da Gama), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo), Zeca (Santos), William (Internacional), Douglas Santos (Atletico Mineiro).

Midfielders: Thiago Maia (Santos), Rodrigo Dourado (Internacional), Walakh, Rafinha (Barcelona), Felipe Anderson (Lazio).

Forwards: Neymar (Barcelona), Renato Augusto, Gabriel Jesus (Palmeiras), Gabriel Barbosa (Santos), Luan (Gremio).
