Loris Karius doesn’t seem to be learning from his mistakes.

The Liverpool goalkeeper, who infamously made two big howlers during his club’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, was at it again.

Featuring in a pre-season game against League Two side Tranmere Rovers for 45 minutes, Karius’ blunder helped their opponent’s seize momentum even as Liverpool went on to prevail 3-2, thanks to goals from Rafael Camacho, Sheyi Ojo and Adam Lallana.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Liverpool were leading 3-0 when Karius kicked a free-kick from 20 yards straight to Tranmere’s substitute Johnny Smith.

The custodian then failed to hold on to a strong punt from Smith, who went on to find the net.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, however, defended Karius, saying that wasn’t the only mistake.

“No one likes that goal, but if we talk about that then the second goal is Milly’s (James Milner’s) fault,” the report quoted Klopp as saying.

“Two brilliant footballers make mistakes but we only talk about one. We can’t make a story after each mistake, let’s carry on and make the best of the situation and learn from it.

“You can stop it by not asking, promise? Until he has a few fantastic games, you cannot change that. Our job is to support Loris, that’s our part of the deal.

“I saw this situation 500 times in my life the ball hits his chest but what can you do.”
