Australia cricketer Steve Smith resumed training after undergoing an elbow surgery earlier this year.

The 29-year-old hit the nets for the first time since the treatment as he took to his official Instagram account to share a clip with his fans.

“Great to have my first hit back today. The elbow is feeling good!” he wrote the caption to his 1.4 million followers.

And Smith can be seen effortlessly driving away some half-volleys, much like Australia would want him to.

Smith, who has been serving a one-year ban from international cricketer due to ball tampering, will be eligible to make his comeback from March 29.

He is expected to be fit in time for the Indian Premier League before getting into the mix for the World Cup that is scheduled to get under way come May 30.
