A 5-wicket haul from veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan helped Bangladesh take a 65-run lead in after bundling out Zimbabwe for 368 runs, in reply to the hosts’ total of 433 in the first innings.

Bangladesh ensured that they don’t let off the hook by allowing overnight batsmen – Hamilton Masakadza (158) and Regis Chakabva (101) – by dismissing the former early on, before the latter was trapped after completing his century.

In the second innings, Bangladesh lost Tamim Iqbal (20) off Tinashe Panyangara. Subsequently, off-spinner Malcolm Waller exhibited magnificent bowling to take out Shamsur Rahman (23), Mominul Haque (54), Shakib Al Hasan (6) and Mushfiqur Rahim (0), as he bagged 4 wickets to reduce the hosts to 145-5.

However, Mahmudullah (63*) and Shuvagata Hom (23*) ensured that Bangladesh don’t endure any bullet further, as they ended the day at 201-5, with an aggregate lead of 266 runs.

With just 90 overs of play remaining, the match is likely to end in a draw tomorrow.
