Serena Williams advanced to the third round of the French Open after brushing aside Kurumi Nara of Japan 6-3 6-2 on Thursday.

Addressing media following her win, the 23-time Grand Slam champion appeared happy with how her performance has shaped up on the Parisian clay so far.

“I like my tennis. I think I played well from start to finish, against a rival who played a very tactical tenn,” she was quoted as saying by bolamarela.pt. “I’m working on a lot of things in training, so it’s important to continue to be better.”

The American, however, hit out at reporter over a question on a recent viral photograph of herself, in which she was seen sitting on a wheelchair at Disneyland Paris.

“I’m fine, I’m here, aren’t I?” she said, quashing rumours of a knee injury. “It’s a personal matter that I will not go into it.”

Williams is scheduled to square off against countrywoman Sofia Kenin for a place in the pre-quarterfinals on Saturday.
