Hilarious! Andy Murray gets numerous offers to coach after Wimbledon withdrawal
Andy Murray made a last-minute decision to pull out of Wimbledon, saying he’s not yet ready for five-set matches.
The three-time Grand Slam champion launched his comeback last month after being sidelined with hip injury for 11 months. And the fact that he hasn’t gotten back to his best yet, he decided to skip the entire grass swing.
“It is with a heavy heart that I’m announcing that I’ll be withdrawing from Wimbledon this year,” Murray was quoted as saying by BBC.
“We’ve decided that playing best-of-five-set matches might be a bit too soon in the recovery process.
“I will start practising on the hard courts from tomorrow and continuing with my rehab and recovery and I’m looking forward to the US hard-court season.”
Despite his withdrawal, Murray’s fellow tennis players tried their best to have him at the Championships as they sent out coaching offers to the Brit.
Who were the ones interested? Alexander Zverev, Sloane Stephens, Dominika Cibulkova, Robert Lindstedt, Max Mirnyi, and Naomi Broady, to name a few. Hilarious, isn’t it?
Obviously gutted to hear @andy_murray won’t be able to play #Wimbledon this year, but the fact that so many people are (jokingly or not) already asking him if he can be their coach for the next two weeks is the greatest thing ever. ???? pic.twitter.com/ra0RKgOsc3

Do we see you on board, coach Murray?
