Young England wicketkeeper Tom Moores impresses veteran goalkeeper David de Gea

Tom Moores, who plays for Nottinghamshire in County Championship, is certainly the enjoying the best days of his life.

The wicketkeeper-batsman garnered attention after taking two breathtaking catches during his team’s Division One match against Yorkshire.

As can be seen in the video below, Moores pulled off the identical catches out of thin air even as Nottinghamshire went on to lose the match by 164 runs.

“They’re the catches you dream about as a kid, so to get two in a day, I loved it,” Moores was quoted as saying by

“They’re the ones you want to take and when they stick, you keep watching them back on replay.”

The 21-year-old also made a special fan in none other than veteran footballer David de Gea.

De Gea, who is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers of all time, reacted to Moores’ efforts by posting a quartet of praising emojis.

No wonder, the youngster was left amused. “It’s certainly not what you expect to see when you check your phone, but it’s very nice for sure,” he said.

“He’s someone who is right at the top of his field. For me, he’s definitely the best keeper in the Premier League if not the world.”
