Having lost their opening encounter against India at Adelaide, Pakistan were expected to bounce back with a retaliation over West Indies. However, the former team’s winless streak continued as they surrendered to yet another humiliating defeat after losing to West Indies by 150 runs at Christchurch on Saturday.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to field first, which eventually proved to be a flawed decision as West Indies piled up 310-6 in 50 overs. Their innings was steered through half-centuries from Denesh Ramdin (51) and Lendl Simmons (50), before a 13-ball 42 from Andre Russell saw them post a healthy total.

In response, Pakistan batsmen seemed clueless against medium-pacer Jerome Taylor, who reduced the Asian contenders to 1-4 in the starting overs itself. Thereafter, despite fifties from Sohaib Maqsood (50) and Umar Akmal (59), Pakistan could not get going, eventually getting all-out for a paltry 160.

Besides Taylor, Russell also bagged 3 wickets, while left-arm offie Sulieman Benn also chipped in with 2 wickets.
