With West Indies yet to be all-out and England still to play out their second essay, the match well seemed to make way for a draw ahead of the Day 5 proceedings of the second Test match in Grenada.

However, a determined all-round performance helped England clinch an astonishing triumph on Saturday.

Resuming from overnight score of 202-2, West Indies were bundled out for 307 runs, thanks to some spectacular bowling from James Anderson (4-43) and Moeen Ali (3-51) that set up a paltry 142-run target for the visitors.

England, in their quest to chase down the target, lost opener Jonathan Trott (0) early on. However, Alastair Cook (59*) and Gary Ballance (81*) ensured them a rare 9-wicket victory overseas in an imposing style.

Up next, the two teams now move on to Barbados for the third and final Test match that is scheduled to begin from May 1.
