West Indies won 2nd ODI against Bangladesh

West Indies cricket board has recently arranged a home tournament where they invited Bangladesh to visit them. They have make a tournament that consists of Test, ODI and T20I competitions. Couple of matches will take place in United States as well. So, the Tigers are visiting West Indies and United States to take part in the tournament. The Tigers already lost in the Test series by 2 – 0 games but in ODI series, they have turned around and won the first match. In the 2nd match team Windies took the revenge on them. This time West Indies won 2nd ODI against Bangladesh and so, they have returned to the competition.

West Indies won 2nd ODI against Bangladesh

Now, they have 3rd and final match ahead and to win the series both of the teams will try to win the 3rd match. Now, the ODI series have come to an even where Bangladesh and West Indies won one match each.

Ahead of the ODI series the Tigers played a tour match there and managed a victory. We all know that Bangladesh is much strong team in ODI right now. But in the 2nd ODI, they faced defeat by only 3 runs. In 25th JUly, 2018 the 2nd ODI match between West Indies and Bangladesh took place and the host ground was Providence Stadium, Guyana. At the same venue, the first match was hosted. Earlier the 2nd match, the Tigers won the toss and decided to bowl first. It was almost a wrong decision where in the first match, they took bat first by winning the toss and they won the match. But in the 2nd match, they took bowl first.

Gayle and Lewis opened the innings for West Indies. In 29 runs opening partnership was broken. Lewis was gone first. In 55 runs Gayle was gone as well. First four wickets were gone in 102 runs. But, Hetmyer and Powell made a partnership that added almost 100 runs. Powell was gone scoring 44 runs and Hetmyer made a century. He scored 125 runs totally. In 49.3 overs team West Indies lost all wickets. Last five players of the team did not make two figure runs. They scored 271 runs totally. Rubel took three wickets where Shakib and Mustafiz took two wickets each for the team Bangladesh.

Team Bangladesh failed to chase the score though they went too close. Top orders of them played well. Tamim, Shakib and Mushfiq managed half century each but in 50 overs they lost six wickets and scored 268 runs so far.
