Team West Indies are out of international schedule for more than six months where in last time they played a dual series against Pakistan in September to October, 2016. Now, they are back to the schedule and going to play a ODI series against England which will be staged at their home venue. The series consists of three ODI matches which will be staged in different venues of Caribbean nation. The official competition between them will start in next 3rd March, 2017.

However, recent performance of West Indies cricket team are so poor and as a result, they placed ninth position on the ICC ranking. However, this is the reason that they did not qualify for upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017. According to the rules, top eight ranked teams have qualified for the tournament and just before that Windies team lost their position when team Bangladesh promoted to the second position. This will be the very first time that ICC Champions Trophy will be staged without a major Test playing nation. That was really pathetic.

England last visited West Indies in 2013/14 season and then played a three matches ODI series. The series was won by England by 2 – 1. England and West Indies are both most oldest ODI competitor and they faced many times before. But since ,more than a decade, West Indies were outnumbered by the English team and lost most of the match against England. West Indies last won a series against them in 2007 when West Indies Visited England. Then West Indies won the series by 2 – 1.

However, before starting the upcoming ODI series against England, West Indies cricket board has announced the complete ODI squad where Jason Holder is selected as the captain of the team. Chris Gayle is not in the squad where Russell is also ruled out from the team. He was restricted to play all format cricket in next one year due to violet the rules. Maximum players are regarded as almost new. So, they could be outnumbered in front of English team. Here we present the complete team squad for upcoming series.
