West Indies beat UAE at Harare

West Indies is the very popular team in cricket World and they won consecutive two World Cup in first two times. But they are not in their previous form. As a matter of fact, they lost dominance over the teams in cricket World. And finally in this time, they are ruled out from the World Cup directly. So, they also have to play World Cup Qualifier round to take part in the main event. It seems they would qualify for the main event considering their performance in the qualifier round. In their last match, West Indies beat UAE at Harare.

It was their first match in the tournament and they also have three matches in hand. So, by winning the first match they moved one step closer to the next round. West Indies is placed in group A where their rest teammates are United Arab Emirates (UAE), Netherlands, Irelands and Papua New Guinea.

On the other hand, it was the 2nd match of United Arab Emirates where in the first match, they won against Papua New Guinea considering D/L methods. However, if we see the statistics of the teams of group A we must admit that West Indies is the most powerful team here and they have much chance to get qualified.

Now, we would like to discuss about their last match against UAE which was hosted in 6th March, 2018 at Old Hararians, Harare. In the match, West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. For United Arab Emirates, Chirag Suri made his ODI debut.

So, Windies team came to bat first and did present a big score in front of the UAE. They played all 50 overs in the match and lost only four wickets so far. Windies scored total 357 runs where Shimron Hetmyer made his career’s first ODI century there. He scored highest 127 runs in just 93 balls. He destroyed the opponent bowlers it seems that. Imran Haider took one wicket for UAE against Windies.

Later, UAE started to chase the score. Basically the score was too much for the newbie team UAE and at the beginning they lost the match but it was true that they fought well. They went close but in 297 runs they had to finish the innings. Overs were finished by then though they had four wickets in hand. One of their player Rameez Shahzad made a unbeaten century there. He scored 112 runs in 107 balls. Jason Holder took five wickets for Windies. Later, Shimron Hetmyer got the player of the match award.
