Not that his wicket-keeping skills were ever in doubt, but Wriddhiman Saha has proved he’s the best in business with the big gloves on.

The 34-year-old took some stunning catches, diving to his left and right, during India’s innings and 137-run win over South Africa in the second of the three-match Test series that concluded in Pune on Sunday.

First, he demonstrated his incredible lateral reflexes to pull off a one-handed blinder after Theunis de Bruyn nicked one off Umesh Yadav to the ball going down the leg (CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO).

Then, he did the same while diving to his left, superbly collecting an edge in front off first slip, to dismiss the same batsman off the same bowler in the second innings (CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO).

As one person rightly pointed it out, “Why is there a first slip, or even a second slip when Saha is keeping?”

Another one added: “Superman Saha! He just might bring pure wicketkeeping back into vogue. Down the legside, one-handed and he makes it look easy. Such a joy to watch him behind the wickets.”

As if the two catches weren’t enough, Saha proved he can keep equally well to a spinner as he took a juggling catch off Ravichandran Ashwin to dismiss Faf du Plessis (CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO).

No wonder, renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle called him a ‘rock star’.
