In a bizarre moment on field, Indian veteran MS Dhoni stopped to set the field right for Bangladesh during the two teams’ warm-up fixture ahead of the ICC World Cup on Tuesday.

In the 40th over of India’s batting, Dhoni was visibly perplexed to see a Bangladesh fielder placed around forward square leg as he backed away just when Sabbir Rahman was about to bowl.

Rahman was unhappy with the fielder as he asked him to move to backward square leg.

“They are having a little bit of a quarrel,” commentators said on air. “MS is laughing at the field placement. There’s a man in the middle of nowhere. He’s moving now and I think MS was a little confused.”

Dhoni went on to smash 113 runs of 78 balls as India amassed 359-7 in 50 overs. In reply, Bangladesh rode on fifties from Liton Das (73) and Mushfiqur Rahim (90) but could only manage 264 on board, falling short of the target by 95 runs.

The World Cup is scheduled to get under way on Thursday.
