Veteran Indian batsman MS Dhoni is considered to be one of the fastest cricketers in the world. His ability to run between the wickets, converting singles into doubles is well known across the cricketing fraternity.

The 36-year-old gave a glimpse of his strong legs as he stood alongside teammate Hardik Pandya for a 100m sprint ahead of the second One-Day International against Sri Lanka at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday.

Even as Pandya – who’s just 24 years old – was a better runner off the blocks, Dhoni gathered momentum eventually and overtook halfway down to emerge victorious by split seconds.

No wonder why Dhoni fans think he stands a chance against Usain Bolt with pads on.

India went on to win the match by 140 runs to square the three-match series 1-1. The series decider will be held in Visakhapatnam come Sunday.
