Virat Kohli meets footballer Harry Kane ahead of World Cup warm-ups

Virat Kohli took some time off practice to meet and greet English footballer Harry Kane at the Lord’s ahead of the ODI World Cup that is scheduled to get under way later this month.

Kane, the captain of England’s football team, took to his official Instagram account to share a selfie of the duo. “After a few tweets in the last couple of years good to finally meet @imVkohli. A great guy and a brilliant sportsman,” he wrote the caption to his 8.2 million followers.

Kohli also shared the same picture with his 34 million followers. “It was a pleasure meeting you @harrykane and all the best for the finals,” his caption read, referring to Tottenham Hotspur’s scheduled Champions League final against Liverpool this weekend.

This is not the first time Kohli has showed his love for football and footballers.

Upon his visit to Stamford Bridge five years back, the Indian captain was gifted a jersey by Chelsea FC with his name printed at the back.

More recently, during India’s tour of England last year, he met Southampton star Danny Ings, who presented their jersey to him.

Meanwhile, Kohli and company are scheduled to play their first warm-up fixture against New Zealand on Saturday.
