If there’s one hobby or profession Tabriaz Shamsi can take up after retiring from cricket, it has to be that of a magician.

The South African chinaman bowler pulled a rabbit out of the hat (or a stick out of the handkerchief, maybe?) during his team Paarl Rocks’ Mzansi Super League fixture against Durban Heat earlier this week.

Shamsi, after picking up a wicket, celebrated by taking a red handkerchief out of his pocket which shockingly turned into a stick.

It happened on the last ball of the eighth over, when Heat batsman Wihan Lubbe decided to go for a big one, only for Hardus Viljoen to take a routine catch at extra cover.

Shamsi, who finished with figures of 4-0-37-2, couldn’t help his team win though as Heat chased down Rocks’ total of 195-2 with six wickets in hand and seven balls to spare, courtesy some big hitting from Alex Hales (97 off 50) and David Miller (40 off 22).
