Comical scenes broke out during the Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kings XI Punjab (RCB) in Bengaluru on Wednesday night.

At the end of the second strategic time-out, KXIP fast bowler Ankit Rajpoot came in to bowl. However, proceedings were interrupted as no one could find where the ball was.

While Rajpoot kept asking all his teammates, his captain Ravichandran Ashwin was involved in an animated discussion with on-field umpire Chettithody Shamshuddin.

RCB batsman AB de Villiers found the funnier side of it as he couldn’t control his laughter all through the mix-up.

And just when the new balls were being brought in, replays showed KXIP bowler Murugan Ashwin handing the ball to the umpire, who put it in his pocket.

Shamshuddin, upon realizing that, wore a sheepish smile as he gave the ball back to Rajpoot.

RCB then rode on unbeaten knocks from de Villiers (82) Marcus Stoinis (46) to amass 202-4 in 20 overs before restricting KXIP to 185-7 to keep their playoff hopes alive.
