Until the 19th over of the match, Delhi Capitals all-rounder Chris Morris was having a forgetful day in the office against Chennai Super Kings. Halfway through the penultimate over, he had conceded 32 runs without taking a wicket in his spell, after all. But in no way, had he given up.

His fourth ball of the over, a full-ish delivery, was smashed miles into the air by Chennai batsman Ravindra Jadeja. It wouldn’t have crossed the ropes, of course, but perhaps no bowler would have run that far – around the 30-yard circle – to attempt the catch.

Not Morris though. He ran all the way there, hung around for the white cherry to come down, and landed it safely into his big hands. What a stunning effort that was!

As Harsha Bhogle pointed out on air, “[Morris] Didn’t leave it to anybody.” No wonder, Morris’ catch won him the award for ‘perfect catch of the match.’

Meanwhile, Delhi were all out for just 99 runs in response to Chennai’s 180-run target, their biggest loss in terms of runs.
