Brisbane Heat all-rounder Ben Cutting had to pay heavy price for a lapse in concentration during his team’s Big Bash League (BBL) fixture against Melbourne Renegades on Thursday.

In an attempt to run backwards to take a catch during first over of Melbourne’s chase, Cutting spilled one and how! The brand new ball crashed on his face.

Even as he was left with a bloodied face, the Australian all-rounder, who had earlier smashed 20 off 10 balls to propel Brisbane to 144-8, was bold enough to get up and sport a smile while waiting for the physio to turn up.

Consequently, Cutting had to undergo five stiches on his forehead. He later returned to the field, throwing down two overs.

Meanwhile, Melbourne rode on wicketkeeper Sam Harman’s unbeaten 56 to chase down Brisbane’s total with eight wickets and 26 balls to spare.
