Australia have done it! The much-awaited World Cup 2015 has come to a conventional end. The hosts pull off the Trans-Tasman battle in a lopsided affair in Melbourne. And they lift the coveted trophy for a record fifth time.

Up against co-hosts New Zealand in the title-clash, Australia lost the crucial toss early on and were eventually asked to bowl first. The conditions, however, favored their lethal bowling unit, who succeeded in bundling out their opponents for a paltry 183-run total in 45 overs.

Left-arm seamers Mitchell Johnson and James Faulkner were the wreckers-in-chief, bagging 3 wickets apiece, while Mitchell Starc and off-spinner Glenn Maxwell also took a brace and a scalp respectively.

In their quest to chase down a measly total, there was a no fairy tale ending for the Australians. Riding on pivotal contributions from skipper Michael Clarke (74), Steven Smith (56) and David Warner (45), the hosts pulled off the target in the 34th over itself with 7 wickets to spare. And that was it!

By the virtue of this triumph, Australia grabbed their 5th title, having previously won the prestigious titles in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and now 2015.

TSM Plug, hereby, congratulates Team Australia on their victory.
