England recovered from a dominating loss from hosts Australia in the series opener to pull off a 9-wicket conquest of India at the Brisbane Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Earlier, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first, which eventually proved to be the erroneous decision as they were bundled out for a paltry 153-run total in just 39.3 overs.

For England, fast bowlers Steven Finn (5/33) and James Anderson (4/18) were the wreckers-in-chief, pairing up to amass as many as 9 wickets.

In their quest to chase down a modest target of 154 runs in 50 overs, England rode on unbeaten half-tons from Ian Bell (88*) and James Taylor (56*) to clinch the match-up in 27.3 overs to earn a bonus-point win.

Finn was named the Man of the Match for his maiden five-for in this format of the game.

Up next, England lock horns with Australia on Friday.
