Titans beat Knights by 38 runs

Titans is one of the most successful team in CSA T20 Challenge which was formerly known as Ram Slam T20 Challenge which is also the defending champion. They have started the new season of CSA as one of the hot favourite and trying to defend their honour. In the second match of Titans in the ongoing season, they faced Knights. In the match, Titans beat Knights by 38 runs. By winning the toss Knights selected to bowl first. Titans scored 199 runs in their innings. But Knights finished their innings by scoring 161 runs. They had still three wickets in hand but no overs left.

The match between them was hosted in 15th November, 2017 at Diamond Oval, Kimberley where Titans started their innings with Quinton de Kock and Henry Davids. Quinton de Kock was unfortunately being run out with just 9 runs. Later, Aiden Markram came to join Davids and made 65 runs partnership. Both player were out with fifty runs each.After Henry Davids, AB de Villiers came and played with Markram and also added more than 40 runs. de Villiers scored 43 runs and being caught out. Farhaan Behardien and captain Albie Morkel finished the innings unbeaten with 37 and 2 runs respectively. So, at the end, they scored a big total of 199 runs. Considering T20 format, it is so huge for any teams. Bowlers could not show their performance significantly.

Grant Mokoena and Patrick Kruger came to open the innings for Knights but they stumbled in just 2.1 overs when they scored 23 runs. Back then their run rate was very good but after that they started to lose wickets within a regular gap. Captain Theunis de Bruyn came to join with Kruger but no one like David Miller, Ryan McLaren and Aubrey Swanepoel made their innings longer but reached the two figure hardly. Some players like Andries Gous and Marchant de Lange tried a bit but in front of the Titans bowlers, they surrendered. At the end of 20 overs, Knights scored 161 runs by losing seven wickets. Tabraiz Shamsi and Malusi Siboto took two wickets each for Titans.

This two teams will play against each other once in 3rd December, 2017 and hopefully this time team Knights will be ready for the Titans. After the end of the three matches, Titans is placed first position where Knights is placed in 3rd position on the CSA T20 Challenge point table.
