India’s Test captain, Virat Kohli, heaped rich praise on the spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra who have been doing rounds in the longest format of the game lately.

On the eve of the third of the ongoing four-match Test series against South Africa at home, Kohli said that it would certainly be a daunting task for the opposition team to bat against the threesome.

“As a captain I am delighted Ashwin is in our team along with Amit Mishra, who brings a lot of variation for us and Ravindra Jadeja, who is very, very consistent,” the flamboyant skipper told the BCCI website.

“All these three put together if I was playing against them, I would find it really difficult to score off them,” he continued. “I can assure you that. I am sure it is not pleasant facing all three together and I am glad we have all three in our team.”

The Indian spinners have been a force to reckon with, especially in the sub-continental conditions. This is evident from the fact that they have pulled off 27 off the 30 wickets in this series so far.

It would be interesting to see the approach of the South African batsmen when they face the slow bowlers in the series’ penultimate match in Nagpur, which has traditionally been a spinner’s paradise.
