Bangladesh produced a clinical all-round performance to pull off a stunning triumph against Pakistan in the first of the 3-match One-Day International (ODI) series in Dhaka on Friday.

Having won the toss, the hosts opted to bat first, which eventually proved to be the right decision as they went on to score 329-6 in 50 overs. Opener Tamim Iqbal (132) and Mushfiqur Rahim (106) played a pivotal role in guiding Bangladesh to a massive total.

Barring fast-bowler Wahab Riaz (4/59), Pakistan’s bowling attack appeared lackluster.

In their quest to chase down a colossal target of 330 runs, Pakistan squandered a good start from skipper Azhar Ali (72), as even contributions from Haris Sohail (51) and Mohammad Rizwan (67) couldn’t help the visitors nail the task. They, ultimately, got bundled out for 250 runs in the 46th over itself.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny took two wickets apiece, while Rubel Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan also chipped in with a scalp each.
