Sydney Thunder lost their 2nd match by 49 runs at Docklands Stadium

Melbourne Renegades tried to make a good start but since 42 when they lost their first opener, they started to lose their wickets regularly. At the end of the twenty overs, they scored almost 179 runs so far. Finch who was their one opener scored the highest 63 runs by playing 37 balls which was so brilliant innings. Besides, Ferguson and Bravo scored 38 and 24 runs respectively. They lost total seven wickets at the end. Russell who was one of the top bowlers of Thunder, took two wickets where Cummins, Mckay, Green and Fawad took one wicket each.

To chase 179 score in short form cricket is basically touch. Sydney Thunder possessed some very talented batsmen in their squad but their top orders could not stand in front of opponent bowlers. They lost their first wicket Patterson in the opening over of opening ball by Cooper and lost their second wicket Morgan before completing two overs. Morgan was their one of the two key hitter batsman but unfortunately did not last long. Their other opener Gibson tried to take the team to the targeted point but got out when he scored 39 runs individually. Besides, Rohrer and Cummins scored 30 and 36 runs but not enough to take control of the match. They finished their innings by scoring just 130 runs by losing all wickets in 19.1 overs. Narine, Bravo and Hogg took two wickets each.

Finch from Melbourne Renegades was announced as the player of the match for his brilliant innings. However, Nair made his Twenty 20 debut for Sydney Thunder.

By losing two match consecutively, Sydney Thunder is lagged behind already. They will play their next match against Brisbane Heat in 28th December, 2016.
