Sydney Thunder beat Hurricanes by 57 runs

Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes are the two franchise teams in Big Bash League competition which used to take part in every season of BBL since the foundation of the competition. Now, the 7th season is going on where Sydney Thunder has already played three matches. Among them, they faced two defeat consecutive where they just won first match against Sixers. Now, in their 4th match in the tournament which was against Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Thunder beat Hurricanes by 57 runs.

On the other hand, it was the 2nd match of Hurricanes where in the first match, they faced their first defeat against Melbourne Renegades. So, it was their 2nd defeat in the ongoing season of BBL. Besides, the match between Thunder and Hurricanes was the 11th number of match in the season which was staged in 30th December, 2017 and the host ground was University of Tasmania Stadium.

Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and selected to field first earlier. So, came to bat Sydney Thunder scored 166 runs by losing five wickets where Jos Buttler scored highest 67 runs in 41 balls. It was the dey/ night competition where came to chase the score which was almost standard considering T20 statistics, Hobart Hurricanes lost their all wickets in 19.3 overs and by when they scored just 109 runs. So, they were defeated by 57 runs in their 2nd match. Tom Rogers made his T20 debut through the match and he was playing for the Hurricanes.

Patterson and Buttler started the innings for Thunder and just added 24 runs through their opening partnership. In the meantime, Patterson was gone by scoring 15 runs. Later, in the 2nd wicket partnership between Buttler and Watson, they led the team to a good total. Buttler was gone by scoring 67 runs where Watson was still in the crease and tried to make another partnership with Ferguson. But Watson was gone with his 41 runs. Ferguson remained not out with his 24 runs innings. Based on their score, the innings of Thunder ended up by scoring 166 runs and they lost five wickets. Rose took two wickets and Archer took one wicket for Hurricanes.

Doolan and short also tried to make a great opening partnership for Hurricanes but they failed. Doolan scored 34 runs and Short was gone with his 15 runs. Top orders of the team were failed completely and lower orders tried to add some runs but that was not enough and in front of the opponent bowlers, they lost their nerve. So, their innings finished by scoring 109 runs.
