Sydney Sixers beat Thunder by 8 wickets

Sydney Sixers played final of Big Bash League competition in last year and being runner up. But in the current season which is the 7th episode of BBL, Sixers are in very bad position. Including their last match against Sydney Thunder, they played totally seven matches in the season but managed only one victory. They won their last match after so long in the season. In the 28th match of BBL, Sydney Sixers beat Thunder by 8 wickets which was really a dominating victory. Besides, it was the 2nd head to head fight between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder where in the inaugural match of BBL 2017/18, this two giant teams faced each other where Sydney Thunder achieved the opening victory. So, Sixers took their revenge against Thunder successfully.

Sydney Sixers beat Thunder by 8 wickets

It was the 28th match of the tournament which was also the last match of round seven in BBL. It was taken place in 13th january, 2018 at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. There Sixers won the toss and let Thunder to bowl first. So, came to bat Sydney Thunder scored 156 runs in 20 overs where Chris Green scored highest 49 runs for the team. In return batting, Sydney Sixers quite successfully chased the score and they had to play full 20 overs. In the meantime, they lost only two wickets. Daniel Hughes scored highest 66 runs for Sydney Sixers.

If we consider the Sydney Thunder’s statistics, they are also in very poor condition but just one step ahead of Sixers. They played total eight matches in the season but won thrice times so far. So, both teams would not qualify for the next knockout round it seems.

Khawaja and Vince started the innings for Thunder which team came for batting by losing the toss. Openers added 39 runs when Khawaja was gone with 8 runs. Watson came up but scored only 3 runs in that day. Vince scored 34 runs in 25 balls. Ferguson scored 7 runs. Green and Nair played few times where Green scored 49 runs and Nair scored 17 runs. Green was unfortunately run out. So, Rohrer and Lenton finished their innings where Rohrer scored 7 runs and Lenton scored 18 runs so far. In 20 overs, team Thunder lost six wickets and scored 156 runs so far.

Denly and Hughes started to chase for Sixers. Denly was gone by scoring 43 runs and Hughes remained not out with 66 runs. Maddinson played a bit who scored 28 runs. Later, Henriques and Hughes led the team to their first victory where Henriques scored 18 runs so far.
