Steve Smith, AB de Villiers Bag Top Honors at 2015 ICC Awards

With the competitive international season done and dusted for the year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) honored the top performers in the period of September 18, 2014 to September 13, 2015.

Australia’s Test captain, Steve Smith, was named the ICC Cricketer of the Year for his incredible batting display throughout the season. The 26-year-old amassed 1734 runs in 25 matches at a whopping average of over 82 during the period.

AB de Villiers, the ODI captain of South Africa, was named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year for the third time in his career. Known for his aggressive on-field approach, the maverick batsman scored 2 centuries in his aggregate of 1265 runs in the 50-over format.
