It will be a nostalgic day for Sri Lanka when their veteran cricketer Kumar Sangakkara steps on to the field for the one last time at the P Sara Oval in Colombo for the second Test match against India, beginning from Thursday.

As announced before the three-Test series kicked-off, the 37-year-old Sangakkara will strive to hand his team a series win (Sri Lanka lead 1-0) before hanging up his boots from international cricket at the conclusion of the match.

Having failed to impress in the series opener with an aggregate of 45 runs, Sangakkara will look to sign off his career on a high when he takes the field for one last time in Colombo, which will mark his 134th outing in longest format of the game.

Among the top run-scorers at present, Sangakkara has whopping 12,000+ runs in Test cricket at an average of over 57 that includes 38 centuries and 52 half-centuries over a period of 15 years on the cricket field.
