Sri Lanka won Tri Nation series

Tri nation series which was arranged by Bangladesh Cricket Board or BCB where three teams including Bangladesh taken part. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka were the two rest teams. According to the schedule, each team played four matches in the tournament and most point holder two teams got qualified for the final. Zimbabwe managed just one victory which was against Sri lanka where Bangladesh won three matches and Sri Lanka won two matches so far. So, this two teams got chance to play final in the tri nation tournament. Finally, Sri Lanka won Tri Nation series by defeating Bangladesh tragically.Sri Lanka won Tri Nation series

Bangladesh is one of the most rising team in cricket World and they promote their ODI ranking. Though, they yet to face defeat in their last tour but at the home condition, they are very strong. They faced Sri Lanka twice times in group stage where won once and lost once. So final match was important for both teams where Bangladesh faced 2nd defeat against the same team.

The final match which was between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was taken place in 27th January, 2018 which was also a day/ night competition. In the match, Shehan Madushanka made his ODI debut. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. They observed that first batting team got victory most of the times. So, taking bat first was great decision. Sri Lanka came to bat and presented 221 runs in 50 overs in front of Bangladesh. The score was easy enough to chase. Upul Tharanga scored highest 56 runs for the Lions. Bangladesh tried to win desperately but their batsmen did not do their job rightly. Except Mahmudullah, most of them were failed. So, in 41.1 overs the Tigers innings was stopped. They scored total, 142 runs by losing all wickets. Mahmudullah scored 76 runs highest by facing 92 balls. So, team Bangladesh was defeated by 79 runs in tri nation series final.

Basically, the Lions bowlers were good enough to destroy Bangladesh batting line up though it was long. In the debut match, Shehan Madushanka made an amazing hat trick which makes him 4th bowler to take hat trick on the debut match.

Top orders of Sri Lankan batsmen got runs and made it to two figure runs. Tharanga scored 56 runs, Mendis scored 28 runs, Dickwella scored 42 runs and captain Chandimal scored 45 runs for the Lions. For Bangladesh, Rubel Hossain took highest four wickets where Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets and Miraz, Mashrafe, Saifuddin took one wicket each.
