Sri Lanka Champions Trophy

Sri Lanka went on to beat England in their own backyard in the Champions Trophy game where they chased down a target of 297 with the help of Kumar Sangakara who scred a magnificent century to help Sri lanka stay alive in the competition and England need to win the last match to make it to the semifinals. Sri Lanka keeps them well and truly alive in the tournament.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first which turned out to be risky decision as Sri Lanka suffered at the start of their bowling and Ravi Bopara scored massive 28 runs in the last over of the innings to post 297 for England, Sri Lankan run chase was flawless and with vatern Kumar Sangakara leading the run chase with one great knock of 134 runs which included 12 great boundaries but it was his running between the wickets which was a key.

Highlight of the england innings was the later overs where Ravi Bopara and joe root took the game to Sri Lanka, Bopara ended the innings with a superb last over assult which saw Sri Lanka concede 28 runs and at that point it looked like game set for England to win.

Sri Lanka replay in the innings was great, they concentrated on the singles and doubles and scored the odd boundary with Kumar sangakara playing innings of his life at the Oval, where before this match only one time this kind of target was chased down.
