Sri Lanka scored 373 runs in warm up match against South African Invitation XI

Sri Lanka made a good start in their first and only warm up match against South African Invitation XI at Potchefstroom which is just a tour match before playing the main competition against South Africa. Against SA Invitation XI, yesterday their match was started where Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. They scored 373 runs by losing all wickets and played total 98.5 overs. Their two openers Dimuth Karunaratne and Kaushal Silva made a long partnership of 159 runs total and both were retired out at the end of just 45 overs so far. At the first day of the match, Lankan team scored 328 runs by losing six wickets. They could have scored more runs but rest batsmen could not stand in front of their pace attack. Finally, at the second day of the match, they just added more than 40 runs to the scoreboard and getting all out. Duanne Olivier has taken four wickets for South African Invitation XI by giving 54 runs at the first innings.

Invitation XI has come to bat at the second day of the match and according to the current news, they scored 116 runs by losing two wickets. They have lost their two opener Ramela and Markram. When team run was just 20, they lost their 1st wicket and after 20 runs they lost second one. Suranga Lakmal is a right arm medium fast bowler who has taken both wickets for Lankan team.

However, according to the starting position of Lankan team, they could score more runs but their batsmen did not judge themselves properly. After the loss of first three wickets, Mendis tried to stand against their bowlers and also made a fifty. But later, Lankan skipper Mathews and vice captain Chandimal were lost their wickets so soon. Mathews scored duck by facing five balls only where Chandimal scored 23. Both of them just recovered from injury and probably not completely fit.

Sri Lankan played against South Africa couple of years ago when Proteas travelled Sri Lanka. They played two test match that time and the series was won by the Proteas. Now, Sri Lanka wants to make an equation by defeating them at their home ground.
