Sri Lanka lead Test series against Pakistan by 1 – 0

Sri Lanka cricket team is currently playing a dual series against Pakistan and due to the purpose, they are visiting United Arab Emirates which is simply called UAE. Pakistan is yet to safe to arrange a International match in their home ground and so, they have used UAE as their home venue instead of Pakistan. Sri Lanka is currently staying there and already played a Test match against the Green Army. Sri Lanka lead Test match against Pakistan by defeating them in first test which started in 28th September, 2017 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The Lankans won the toss and elected to bat there. In their first innings, they scored 419 runs with the help of Chandimal’s biggest individual score. He made 155 runs innings and Karunaratne scored 93 runs for the team. Dickwella also scored 83 runs so far. Rest players could not score any significant score in the first innings. They played total 154.5 overs. For Pakistan, Yasir Shah and Abbas took three wickets each in the first innings.

In return, Pakistan’s first innings was too well. They able to make 3 runs lead which means they scored 422 runs in their first innings so far. No one could make any century in the first innings but most of them got runs there. Though, Azhar Ali scored highest 85 runs and Haris Sohail scored 76 runs for the team. Haris who made his debut with the Test against the Lions was colorful. Fior Sri Lanka, Herath took highest five wickets so far.

In 2nd innings of Sri Lanka, they could not make any chance against the Green Army bowlers but got all out within 138 runs. No one could last long but Dickwella remained not out with his highest 40 runs. So, they placed only 135 runs lead in front of Pakistan and if they could manage 136 runs, they won the series. Yasir Shah took five wickets for the Green Army and destroyed the batting line up of the Lions.

But Pakistan is very unpredictable in that case. The match was easy to win but they could not manage it all. At the end, they finished their innings by scoring just 114 runs. Herath and Perera played most important role to destroy Pakistani batting by taking four wickets each and won the match by 21 runs so far.For Pakistan, Haris Sohail scored highest 34 runs. Now, as we speak, they are playing their second and last match and to draw the series, Pakistan needs to win the match.
