Sri Lanka kept balance by winning 2nd T20 against Proteas at Johannesburg

Sri Lanka and South Africa is currently playing a dual tournament consists of Tests, ODIs and T20IS. Among them, they have played the Test series which consisted of three matches. Unfortunately the Lions were being whitewashed in the series against the Proteas. But, also it was too difficult for the Lions to defeat Proteas in South Africa. Because, Proteas usually more dangerous in their home ground. But of course, if they could have managed just one victory in the long format series, that was to be more than enough. Besides, Sri Lanka is also suffering for their experienced players in their test squad. Yes, they have plenty of talented players in their current squad but in test, they were so young and lack of patience. So, they were completed defeated.

However, after finishing the Test series, they have started the T20 series where the series also consists of three matches. And already they have played two matches where the result has come to the level. South Africa won the first game and the Lions won the second game so far. Earlier in 22nd January, 2017 at Johannesburg, Proteas won the toss and decided to bat first. Due to the controlled bowling of Sri Lanka, Proteas got packet by scoring just 113 runs in 19.3 overs. They lost two wickets when the team score was just 13. No batsmen could able to stand for long time in front of Sri Lankan bowlers. Kuhn scored highest 29 runs for the team. Sandakan took highest four wickets where Udana took three wickets for the Lions.

113 runs was so mere in T20 matches but in South Africa, Sri Lanka fallen into batting disaster and lost three wickets within just 35 runs.  Later, Mathews took the lead and brought a victory for the Lions. He made a unbeaten half century for the team. Sri Lanka lost their seven wickets to achieve a victory in South Africa.

Now, they have only one T20I match left in their hand which will be executed in next 25th January, 2017 at Cape Town. Sri Lanka and South Africa both will play for the title. Those who will win the match, the trophy will go to their side.
