Sri Lanka got 1st victory in Tri Nation series

Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe both were invited to participate a tri nation series in Bangladesh where Bangladesh was the host team in the event. The tournament started in the middle of the January, 2018 where the inaugural match was staged between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The Tigers started the tournament with victory. Excluding the 4th match, all three teams played two matches each where Bangladesh won twice times and Zimbabwe won once but Sri Lanka yet to win any match in the tournament. So, 4th match of the tournament between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka got 1st victory in Tri Nation series.

Sri Lanka got 1st victory in Tri Nation series

In the tri nation series, team Bangladesh was regarded as the favourite though the Lions was the expert team. But in home condition the Tigers are more dangerous. So, between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, one would take the trophy of the tri nation series. Though till now, the performance of the Lions were not so impressive where Bangladesh managed two important victories as well.

However, the match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe was taken place in 21st January, 2018 and hosted at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka. Earlier the match in the toss, Zimbabwe won it and as usual opted to bat first. In the venue the first batting team used to get the most chance to win the match. But, Zimbabwe faced a batting disaster there and getting all out in just 44 overs. They scored 198 runs totally where the highest scorer for the team was Brendan Taylor who scored 58 runs in 80 balls. For the Lions, Thisara Perera took highest four wickets for the team.

In return came to chase the score, Sri Lanka successfully reached the destination in 44.5 overs and their highest scorer was Kusal Perera who scored 49 runs in 57 balls. However, the Lions lost total five wickets to chase the score. But finally got the victory by five wickets. Blessing Muzarabani took three wickets for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe started to bat with Masakadza and Mire and added 44 runs jointly. In 44 runs Masakadza was gone with 20 runs so far. Since then, the team started to lose wickets within a regular difference. But also in the meantime, couple of players added few runs where Taylor scored 58 runs, Waller scored 24 runs and Cremer scored 34 runs respectively. Bowlers of the Lions did their job well enough and tied them within short target.
