Sri Lanka finished 3rd day scoring 165 runs

The first test between Sri Lanka and India is going on. According to the last news, they have finished the 3rd day successfully. First two days, the match was fielded for just sometimes due to heavy rain in Kolkata but in the 3rd day, there was no problem at all. Sri Lanka is on the way to lead and as stated by the last news, Sri Lanka finished 3rd day scoring 165 runs. In the meantime, they have lost four wickets so far.

Earlier the 3rd day, team India opened the day but could not last long. Just before the launch break, they lost all wickets and in totally they scored 172 runs. The score was so mere even for the Lions but due to heavy rain, the ground was turned into bowling favoured and so, bowlers used to get much benefit through it.

Sri Lankan bowlers were quite successful and Suranga Lakmal took highest four wickets for the Lions. Lahiru Gamage, Dasun Shanaka and Dilruwan Perera took two wickets each.

However, came to bat for the first innings the Lions opened their run account with two openers Sadeera Samarawickrama and Sadeera Samarawickrama. But their openers were gone in just 34 runs which was pathetic. Bhubaneshwar took both of them. Later Lahiru Thirimanne and Angelo Mathews made a partnership that added almost 100 runs to the scoreboard.Both players scored fifty each. Within the difference of five runs, both were gone. Later, skipper Dinesh Chandimal and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella came up and finished the 3rd day safely.

In first two days, the match was played total 32.5 overs. With five wickets left, India started the innings with 74 runs in the 3rd day. Pujara who was unbeaten with 47 runs in the 2nd day achieved fifty in the 3rd day. But just after that he was out by Gamage. In the 7th wicket partnership, Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja made an important bond which added 48 runs to the scorecard. Off spinner Dilruwan Perera took both of them in just one over. But India still fought there. Shami and Kumar both took lead of the game and took the team ahead.

After the first two days, the ground was much easier for batsmen and after the innings of India, the challenge of the ground was a little but that was successfully managed by the Lions players.
