After their 0-2 slump to hosts India in the ongoing one-day international series against India, Sri Lanka selectors comprehended the need for a few changes for the final two matches.

The side boasts return of left-handed batsman, Lahiru Thirimanne, who returns in place of opener Upul Tharanga, while wicket-keeper Dinesh Chandimal has been called in for veteran Kumar Sangakkara.

Besides, off-spinner Suraj Randiv has been replaced by experienced Ajantha Mendis, keeping in mind the latter’s success ratio against India in the past.

Fast-bowler Dhammika Prasad has also been dropped from the final two matches, as Shaminda Eranga makes the cut to the Sri Lankan side.

Sri Lanka will look to validate the changes and give them an opportunity to perform in fray, when they lock horns with India in the 3rd match at Hyderabad on Sunday.

The 4th and 5th match will be played in Kolkata and Ranchi respectively.
