South Africa confirmed ODI series against Sri Lanka

After losing the Test series against the local team, team South Africa confirmed ODI series against Sri Lanka. To speak the truth, Proteas dominantly won the three ODI matches consecutively and won the ODI series so far. Now, there are two more matches left and winning the matches will not change the result of the series.

South Africa confirmed ODI series against Sri Lanka

Team South Africa is recently visiting Sri Lanka and they were going to play three matches Test series. But later, one Test match was replaced by couple of ODI matches. So, Test series consisted of two matches where Sri Lanka won both matches against Proteas.

Later, in 29th July, 2018 they started the ODI series officially. Earlier, team Proteas played a tour match and won that. The first ODI took place in 29th July where the 2nd one staged in 1st August, 2018. First two matches were hosted at the same venue of Dambulla. 3rd ODI took place in 5th August, 2018 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy. For South Africa Reeza Hendricks made his ODI debut through the match. Earlier, the local team Sri Lanka won the toss and let the guest team to bat first.

Amla and De Kock started for the Proteas. In 42 runs De Kock was gone. Later, Hendricks joined with Amla. Amla scored 59 runs and Hendricks made a century in his debut match. He is the 3rd Proteas player as well as 14th overall player to make century in debut ODI.. Later, Duminy and Miller played also good where Duminy scored 92 runs and Miller scored 51 runs so far. They played complete 50 overs and scored 363 runs in exchange for 7 wickets. It was the highest total of Proteas in Sri Lanka. Perera took four wickets and Kumara took two wickets for the Lions.

Later, Sri Lanka came to chase the score. They wanted to make a tremendous start but in 20 runs opening partnership was broken. Dickwella was gone with 10 runs. Another opener Tharanga scored 19 runs so far. Most of the players of the Lions got runs in the match where De Silva scored highest 84 runs and Dananjaya scored 37 runs so far. Among rest players Mendis scored 31 runs, captain Mathews scored 32 runs etc. In 45.2 overs team Sri Lanka lost all wickets and scored 285 runs. Ngidi took four wickets and Phehlukwayo took three wickets for the Proteas.
