South Africa chasing 417 runs at Durban

Australia cricket team is currently staying in South Africa and due to a series against Proteas, they are travelling there. Their dual series consists of four Test matches. However, this two teams have already started the Test series with the Durban Test. It is the first Test and already four days of the 1st Test have finished successfully.The inaugural match started in 1st March, 2018 at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban. As far as we know the latest news, South Africa chasing 417 runs at Durban. It is their 2nd innings where Australia left them a big target at the ground.

South Africa chasing 417 runs at Durban

In the match, Australia won the toss and as experienced Test team they decided to bat first at Durban. They started the innings well enough and played the complete first day. But in 2nd day, they got packet. Totally team Australia played 110.4 overs and in the meantime they scored 351 runs in the first innings. Mitchell Marsh scored highest 96 runs for Australia. For Proteas Keshav Maharaj took five wickets.

Later, South Africa came to bat for the 1st innings but as local team, they failed to judge their name. They seen batting collapsed and getting all out so early. They scored total 162 runs where Devilliers remain undefeated with 71 runs so far. Basically for Australia, Mitchell Starc played the vital role to destroy Proteas innings. He alone took five wickets in exchange for 34 runs so far. So, Proteas was far behind than Australia considering the first innings score.

With Bancroft and Warner Australia started their 2nd innings. Both played well at the beginning and added 56 runs jointly. Warner was getting out first. He scored 28 runs so far. Later, Khawaja came and joined with Bancroft. But he did not stand long. He gone with 6 runs only. Captain Smith and Bancroft added few more runs when Bancroft scored 53 runs. He made ten 4’s in his short innings. Later, Smith and Marsh played for a while and with 38 runs Smith was gone as well. Shaun Marsh scored 33 runs. Rest players did not add much but Paine scored 14 and Cummins scored 26 runs so far. So, Australia scored 227 runs in the second innings where they played total 74.4 overs.

For Proteas Maharaj took four wickets, Morkel took three wickets and Rabada took two wickets so far. Now, South Africa is in bat to chase 417 runs.
