Sixers beat Stars by 8 wickets

Sydney Sixers which is the current runner up of Big Bash League competition but passing very bad season in the ongoing tournament of BBL. They just managed two victories by playing eight matches and also is in doubt of not qualifying for knockout phase. Their 8th number of match in ongoing seventh season of BBL was against Melbourne Stars. They turned their back in the game and claimed their 2nd very hard winning victory there. In their last match, Sixers beat Stars by 8 wickets which seemed an easy but the reality was different. They had to fight very strongly and finally achieved a great victory out there.

It was the 30th match of the season of Big Bash League 2017/18 where Melbourne Stars faced Sydney Sixers in 16th January, 2018 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. In the match, Sydney Sixers won the toss and decided to field first. So, Stars came to bat and presented just 128 runs target in front of Sixers in 20 overs. The score was poor enough and Sixers did chase the score in 15.1 overs. Nic Maddinson scored highest 62 runs for the team Sixers and played the vital role in the game.

It was the 30th match of the ongoing season of BBL and also the first head to head battle between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers in the ongoing season.

Melbourne Stars came to bat with Luke Wright and Dunk but as usual their partnership were fallen in just 20 runs. Second wicket was Pietersen who was gone in 31 runs and in the same score, 3rd wicket Dunk was gone as well. Later, Maxwell and Handscomb played a bit well but did not able to add much runs. Maxwell scored 28 runs and Handscomb scored 14 runs for the team Stars. Later, Faulkner added more 28 runs and Gulbis scored 24 runs so far. In 20 overs Stars lost seven wickets and scored 128 runs so far. In 20 overs match, the score was not enough to beat a team. Lyon took highest three wickets for the team Sixers and Abbott took two wickets so far.

Came to chase such poor score, in 29 runs Sydney Sixers lost their opener Denly who scored only 12 runs. Hughes and Maddinson made a great partnership and led the team to the victory. Maddinson was out with 62 runs but unfortunately Hughes remained not out with 49 runs with Henriques. In 15.1 overs Sixers claimed their 2nd victories in the season of BBL.
