Veteran all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, completed his 10-wicket haul to help Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 162 runs in the second Test match, as the hosts take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.

In their quest to chase down the target of 314 runs on the fifth and final day, Zimbabwean batsmen looked rusty throughout and surrendered to the Bangladeshi bowlers.

Within the first 10 overs of their chase, the visitors were reduced to 15-3, losing Brian Chari (4), Sikandar Raza (9) and skipper Brendan Taylor (0) off left-arm spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam.

Zimbabwe’s first-innings heroes – Hamilton Masakadza and Regis Chakabva – showed patience again, putting up a 70-run stand for the 4th wicket, before the latter was dismissed by Jubair Hossain for 27.

The tourists’ woes further escalated after Craig Ervine (21) and Masakadza (61) perished after notable contributions.

Furthermore, the wickets of Malcolm Waller (4), Elton Chigumbura (12), Natsai Mushangwe (0) and Tendai Chatara (1) departed without making mark, as Zimbabwe were bundled out for 151 in the second innings.

For Bangladesh, Shakib added another 5-wicket haul to his five-for in the first innings, whilst Taijul Islam chipped in with 3 wickets.

The third Test is scheduled to begin from November 12, which would be nothing but a dead rubber.
