Bangladesh had a glorious bilateral series against Pakistan at home recently. Besides whitewashing the tourists for the first time in the 3-match One-Day International (ODI) series, they also won the one-off Twenty20 International subsequently.

Furthermore, they also staged a stellar performance with the bat in the first of the 2-match Test series that eventually ended in a draw, before letting off the hook in the second rubber.

However, a fruitless finish to the series doesn’t impress Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who laments a futile ending. “It is a better performance than the world cup; there is a slight regret about the end as it could have been better,” he told bdcricketteam website.

Bygones are bygones as Shakib gears up for the forthcoming series against two-time World Champions India that involves a one-off Test match and 3 ODIs.

“They have match winners but our performance will inspire us and we get lot more support from our home crowd in that series,” he continued. “We will definitely want to win the series against them.”

The series is scheduled to commence from June 10 in Fatullah.
