ICC World Cup is the biggest and most prestigious cricket competition in the World and it used to stage once in every four years. In the upcoming episode of ICC World Cup will take place in 2019 where already seven teams have confirmed their place in the tournament along with the host nation. The upcoming ICC World Cup will be hosted at England and Wales where England will play there as the host nation. Now Cricket World Cup Qualifier has started and from there top two teams will get ticket to the main event of ICC World Cup. As per the schedule, Afghanistan faced Scotland in the tournament where Scotland won by 7 wickets.

Afghanistan is one of the rising team in cricket and standing on the 11th position considering ICC ranking where Scotland was ruled out from the ICC ranking many times ago. But they finally showed their true colors. It was unexpected for Afghanistan and they did not though to face defeat against the little Scotland. But Scotland did amazing really.

Total ten teams are participating in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier round where Scotland and Afghanistan are placed in the group B along with Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Nepal. Top three teams from the group will qualify for the super six round. So, it was a great achievement for Scotland. Through the victory they have jumped one step closer to the super six round.

Afghanistan lost the toss and came to bat first. They did not play full 50 overs but went too close of it. By losing all wickets Afghan team scored 255 runs. They played 49.4 overs where Mohammad Nabi scored highest 92 runs in 82 balls. For Scotland Brad Wheal took three wickets so far. Rashid Khan was the captain of team Afghanistan and became the youngest ODI captain in the cricket World.

255 runs seems enough to beat Scotland but in the day Scotland played well. By losing only three wickets Scotland scored 256 runs and so, they won the match. Scotland had to play 47.2 overs and also they played brilliantly. One of their player Calum MacLeod made a century of 157 runs and remain not out. So, he got the player of the match award. He faced 146 balls and made the score. Basically based on his runs Scotland did the chase successful. Mujeeb Ur Rahman took two wickets for Afghanistan.

Now, team Afghanistan has three matches left and to secure their place in Super Six round, they have to manage victory all the times.
