Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab both are standing on the almost same platform. Both teams have won six matches each in group stage and still they have one match in hand. But considering the run rate, Royal Challengers Bangalore is in good position that KXIP. They are in 5th position where KXIP is in 7th position. It seems that just couple of matches earlier, RCB was in the 7th position and was about to rule out from the competition. But it seems that Kings XI Punjab would face the same fate. In their last head to head battle, RCB beat KXIP by 10 wickets and jumped to their current position.

However, the match between them was the 2nd head to head battle where earlier in the first match between them, RCB won that match too. So, against RCB in the season of KXIP, they have no good record. Now, if in the next match RCB will face defeat and Kings XI Punjab will win, then KXIP would get a chance. But to secure their position in playoff round, they have to hold a position among top four which seems impossible for them now.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most popular team in Indian Premier League and also they are one of the eight founding member like Kings XI Punjab. So, both are very experienced teams no doubt. Kings XI Punjab is led by Ashwin and RCB is led by Virat Kohli now. Both teams possesses some talented T20 experts.

However, their head to head match took place in 14th May, 2018 which was the 48th match in the tournament IPL and at Holkar Cricket Stadium the match was grounded.

In the day/ night competition local team Kings XI Punjab faced defeat in the toss and so, they were given to bat first. Openers Rahul and Gayle made a start for the team which added 36 runs. They scored 88 runs totally. Yadav took three wickets for RCB in the match.

Most amazingly the openers of the team RCB led their team to victory. Kohli and Patel came to open their innings and remained not out. Kohli scored 48 runs and Patel scored 40 runs so far. In 8.1 overs the team RCB got the victory.
