Down 0-2 in the ongoing 4-match Test series against Australia, India have suffered another setback as Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the rest of the series due to a shoulder injury.

26-year-old Jadeja, who is known for his all-round skills, will fly back to India to undergo a rehabilitation programme.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have named limited-overs’ specialist all-rounder, Axar Patel, as his replacement for the rest of the series Down Under.

“Axar Patel will join the Indian team in Australia for the remainder of the Test Series as a replacement for Ravindra Jadeja, who has a shoulder injury and will be returning to India to undergo a rehabilitation program,” the BCCI released a statement as saying.

Earlier, medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar had been ruled out of the tour due to injury, and Dhawal Kulkarni was called in as his cover.
