Rangpur Riders lost by 14 runs against Comilla

Rangpur Riders which is also a top franchise team in Bangladesh Premier League played their 4th match in ongoing season of BPL against Comilla Victorians. They had the two new players yesterday which are Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum. Both were hard hitter batsmen in T20 league competition. And it seemed that only a matter of time to get the victory over Comilla. But at the end of the game, Rangpur Riders lost by 14 runs against Comilla Victorians so unfortunately. Playing four matches in the season, Rangpur managed just one victory and placed last position on the point table. Where Comilla is in 2nd position by winning four matches out of five. With highest points, Dhaka is in the top position.

However, the match between Rangpur and Comilla was hosted at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka where Rangpur Riders won the toss and opted to field first. The second batting team used to get the much possibility to win the match. Came to bat with skipper Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das, they made just 21 runs partnership when Tamim got out with his 21 runs so far. Later, Imrul Kayes came to join Liton but Das could not make his innings longer. He was out with his individual 11 runs. Jos Buttler played no better in the match but scored just 1 run. But Marlon Samuels played well with Imrul and made more than 40 runs partnership when Imrul got out with his highest 47 runs. He took 32 balls to do it. At the end of the crease Marlon Samuels played well and scored 41 runs in 34 balls. Finally, in selected 20 overs, Comilla Victorians scored 153 runs by losing six wickets. Thisara Perera and Mashrafe Mortaza took two wickets each for the team.

153 runs was not enough where in the opponent team, there were couple of most talented and experienced T20 experts played. But, McCullum and Gayle could not justify their name. In 31 runs, their opening partnership was broken when Gayle was out with his just 17 runs. Later, Kusal Perera was out by scoring none. Openers and top orders were failed but middle orders tried. Mithun and Ravi Bopara made a partnership and added more than 50 runs but that was not enough. Mithun scored 31 runs and Ravi remained unbeaten by scoring highest 48 runs. Rest players could not make any significant score there. They finished their innings in 139 runs by losing seven wickets. Mehedi Hasan and Rashid Khan took two wickets each for Comilla.
