Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators has recently played their first match between each other in ongoing Pakistan Super League 2017 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium yesterday which was also the second match of the tournament. In the match, Quetta beat Lahore by 8 runs so far though, Lahore Qalandars was regarded as the favourite. The match was so high tempered where Quetta scored 136 runs by batting first time but being as a favourite, Qalandars did not make the targeted score though that was almost easy. However, Lahore Qalandars is one of the five contenders in PSL 2 season and also one of the favourite team. Though, in last season of PSL, they did not make any historical appearances and won only two games by playing nine but in this season, they wanted to start with good memories. But in vain. They could not defeat the last year finalist.

Yesterday at the evening, Lahore won the toss and chose to field. They counted the last match statistics between Zalmi and United and last batting team chased the score successfully. According to the count, Lahore also tied the opponent innings within 136 runs where Quetta lost their top two wickets within 22 runs named Pietersen and Shehzad. But, Shafiq and Rossouw tried to make a stand and both of them made scored higher than the rests. Shafiq scored 29 and Rossouw scored highest 60 runs for the team. At the end, Quetta scored 136 runs by losing nine wickets. Irfan, took three wickets where Tanvir and Narine took two wickets each.

On the other hand, Lahore had Roy, McCullum, Umar Akmal and some other tremendous batsmen and also started very good. They took 34 runs before the end of three overs but since then they started to lose their wicket. First Roy  and then McCullum, then Akmal was out and this thing was not stopped until Tanvir was gone in 77 runs. Including Tanvir, Lahore lost their top six wickets within 77 runs.Later, Elliot and Narine tried to protest but could not lead the team to victory. They got all out in 18.4 overs when they just needed 8 more runs to get victory which was so unfortunate matter.

Lahore Qalandars will play their next match against Islamabad United where Quetta will play their next match against Karachi Kings. Both matches will be staged at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
