Quetta Gladiators achieved expected victory over Karachi Kings

Fifth match of the ongoing PSL 2 was staged yesterday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium where Karachi faced Quetta Gladiators. Quetta which was the finalist of the last season of PSL was regarded as the favourite and also got an expected victory against Karachi. Till yesterday, every participating team of PSL 2 already played two matches each where Karachi could not manage any victory and placed on the last position of the point table. On the other hand, Quetta won both two matches and so, they are on the top position. According to the toss, Karachi came to bat where they scored 159 runs which was about to an enough score to beat any team. But, Quetta successfully chased the score in 19.1 overs. To do that, Quetta lost just three wickets so far.

Though, Karachi Kings openers stood for while but their scoring rate was not significantly high. They started to lose their wickets since 3.4 overs when team score was 28. Since then, their wickets started to fall regularly. Their first eight players made their score at least two figures but excluding Babar Azam, no players able to pass almost 30 runs so far. Babar scored highest 50 runs for the team. His nearest partner Sangakkara scored just 25 runs so far. Though, their players could not play a large innings individually, but each of them at least made contribution to the score and so, they finally reached to the 159 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. Perera took highest three wickets and Mill took two wickets for the Gladiators.

Facing such good score, Quetta Gladiators started to play very confidently. Though, they lost their first three wickets within 30 runs where Pietersen was again flop in that day like last match. At the next wicket partnership between Rossouw and Sarfraz, the team took an easy victory in 19.1 overs. Both players remain unbeaten till the last and scored 76 and 56 runs respectively.

Now, Quetta is heading towards their next battle which will be against Islamabad United in next 15th February, 2017 and Karachi will play against Lahore Qalandars in next 16th February, 2017. The both matches will be staged at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
