Peshawar Zalmi won 2nd title of PSL

After so many speculation, the final match of Pakistan Super League 2017 was staged yesterday at Lahore with foolproof security. The final match of PSL 2 was staged between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators but the competition between them was less than expected. Peshawar Zalmi won the one sided match by 58 runs. At the beginning, Zalmi lost the toss and came to bat. They scored 148 runs in selected 20 overs but Quetta fallen into batting collapsed and being all out with just 90 runs so far. Through this defeat, Quetta faced two consecutive defeat in final of Pakistan Super League. Before the match, this two teams played total thrice times excluding final where both teams won one match each and rest match finished with no conclusion. However, Quetta beat Zalmi in the first qualifier round of recently finished PSL 2 but in final, they could not bring the result on their side.

However, earlier at yesterday evening at Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi came to bat first with their top two openers Malan and Kamran. Kamran who scored century in the 2nd qualifier against Karachi, also started to hit but finished his innings with 40 runs. Malan also failed to play a longer innings. Most of the players of Peshawar Zalmi was so dim in that day. Basically, at Lahore, that was the first match and so, they needed more time to understand the field nature. Akmal’s 40 runs was the highest score for the team yesterday and rest players finished their innings so early. Sammy who was the skipper of the team scored 28 runs unbeaten. As a result, the innings finished with 148 runs total by losing six wickets.

At the beginning of Quetta’s innings, they lost two wickets within 5 runs and next wicket was fallen in 13 runs so far. After falling top three wickets, captain Sarfraz and Ervine tried to add runs in their partnership but they could not stop the fall of wickets. Ervine scored highest 24 runs for the team and as a result, they finished their innings in 90 runs so far. Along with this, their dream of claiming PSL title yet to be filled.

Sammy was announced as the player of the match and Kamran Akmal was declared as the player of the tournament.
